Shameless Plugs (Julia’s Writing)

The Day the Sun Went Out by Julia Scott-Douglas

Genre: Sci Fi

Writing Style: Short Story

Synopsis: It’s a normal day for Barker Thomas – an alien engineer doing a systems check on the solar unit that lights earth.  A normal day, that is, until the solar unit won’t turn back on.  Meanwhile – back on earth, astronomer Dr. Reese Spence is watching the eclipse with his son and notices the discrepency.  Excited and frightened, he races to his lab to discover what is going on.  Will the earthmen finally discover the truth?  Will Barker Thomas ever get his questions answered by alien customer service?  Find out in The Day the Sun Went Out.

NOTICE regarding After the Bombs:  Unfortunately, Fiction Reborn has been forced to close down and won’t be publishing my story.  I will be shopping it around to various sci fi magazines.

After the BombsMy short story – After the Bombs - is being published by Fiction Reborn in July 2008. A great synopsis plus updated publication information can be found here.  I hope all you sci fi fans take a look at my story and like it.  I’m not going to review it or any of my other work that gets published on this blog (for obvious reasons – of course I love it).  But, I will keep this page updated with my latest and greatest publications.

Congratulations Julia! Great news. I’ll be sure to check out your writing. I myself am completely incapable of writing short stories and admire and envy anyone who has the chops to do it.

Thanks Jo! I’ll keep everyone posted on the exact release date. I suppose the grass is always greener – I wish I could write longer stories with less trouble. I’ve been working on the same novel for over a year!

Right now, one can’t. :( I’m working on it though. I’m either going to get it published, or I’ll work out a way my friends and readers can get a copy to read. I’ll keep everyone posted and post any updates here, or in the RUABookworm blogging area.
